Central Women's University (CWU) was established in 1993, shortly after the Private University Act of 1992. Founded by Professor Beggzadi Mahmuda Nasir, CWU aimed to provide women with higher education opportunities and prepare them for careers in a globalized world.
Initially operating from the Central Women's College campus, the university has grown significantly over the years.
Currently, CWU offers undergraduate and graduate programs in 13 subjects across three schools: Business and Economics, Science and Engineering, and Humanities and Social Science.
